Is It Safe To Workout Right Now?

The question we get most often in fitness lately (besides how to get rid of the ‘COVID 15’) is: “Is it safe to work out right now?” At this moment, the San Francisco Department of Health says indoor fitness at limited capacity with full COVID safety protocols is allowed in the City. What are those protocols?

  • Masks must be worn at all times
  • 12 feet of social distance during heavy exercise, 6 feet when at rest
  • Health checks for every single visit
  • Sanitation of equipment after every use
  • No locker room, jacuzzi or steam room access


Members of the Coalition are taking even more steps to assure your safety, including reservation systems, moving cardio outdoors, establishing “fitness zones” and active monitoring by certified personnel to assure full COVID safety protocol and sanitation procedures are followed.


Studies are coming in that demonstrate the indoor fitness with these protocols has not produced any COVID hotspots or outbreaks.


Still don’t feel confident? Many Coalition members also offer outdoor fitness as well as online. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to your local gym and speak to their health professionals

Fitness is Medicine

It's widely known that regular fitness improves not only your physical health but your mental wellness as well. When you go to the doctor, he or she always asks "How much exercise are you getting?"


It is also well known that physical fitness also addresses the many co-morbidities associated with COVID, including diabetes, heart disease and obesity.
